Today’s post is a bit different than past updates. I was planning to be at an incredible off-road training center for 3 days of learning this weekend. But several days ago I got the news that disaster struck, a hurricane destroyed the entire facility. Here is the news from Jan at Country Trax:
A hurricane swept over our farm on 1 November 2016, causing extensive damage to all the facilities here. Every building, including Jan and Elsie’s home, all the guest rooms, reception buildings, offices, storage sheds, staff housing and water and electricity infrastructure were completely destroyed within a few minutes. Words and photos cannot describe the incredible force and devastation left in the wake of this disaster. Animals were killed and some people injured, but everyone fortunately survived this terrible ordeal.
Clean-up operations are already in full swing. Jan and Elsie and their team of staff, helpers and other friends are determined to bounce back bigger and better than ever. We at Country TRAX are all determined to rebuild the farm, and restore it to its purpose to be a world class facility where we can all live our dreams and passion and friendship. We know that the motorcycling community are eager to assist in many ways.
Today I’m asking for a simple favor. If you’ve been reading the blog and been inspired, consider donating a few dollars to help Jan, Elsie and the TEAM. Just click the link below to be taken to the Disaster Relief Project page. Every dollar helps, so please join the community and donate $5 or $10. Or dig deep and donate $100.
