Hello America! I have good news, in 2019 I’ll be riding across the USA with my good friend, Alicia Sornosa.
We’re still hammering out all of the dates and details, but we wanted to let you know as early as possible so you can help us plan. That’s right, we’d like your help.
Who is Alicia Sornosa?
Journalist, traveler, biker, and writer.
I’m Alicia Sornosa, and I’m passionate about motorsports, snowboarding, sailing, and everything that has a combustion engine or is a risky sport.
In October 2013 I returned to Spain after having traveled with my motorcycle to five continents and crowning myself as the only European and Spanish-speaking woman of this century to have traveled the world with her motorcycle.

Surprise Guests
There are a few other riders from around the world that are planning to join us if possible (ahem, Polo Arnaiz). Getting everyone from all over the world in the same place at the same time is a challenge, once we’ve confirmed who and when I’ll post updates.
We Need Your Help
We’ll be in the United States spring and summer of 2019. We’ll be covering as much territory as we can while we’re there. We’d also love to meet with you and your group.
Maybe it’s a formal event where we share our passion for bikes and travel, or perhaps it’s a fun night of sharing stories and drinking beer. Maybe you’d like to join us for a few days of riding and sightseeing.
We’re looking for:
- Travel groups
- Motorcycle clubs
- Photography clubs
- Outdoor/camping groups
- Travel or bike expos.

We’re in the active planning stages. We’re prepping our routes, setting our agenda, and scribbling locations and dates in our calendar. The sooner we know that you’d like to join in on the fun, the better our chances of making it happen.

If you so choose, I belong to a camera club in Fall River, MA which is enroute to Cape Cod taking Route 195 east.
Our club season ends in June and starts again in Sept.
Speaking/photos of your adventures would be nice.
Hey Mark. Have followed you for some time on Adorama and have learned a ton from you. Thanks. I live just south of Asheville, NC. The best spot in the US. In western NC we have over 1000 waterfalls and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Spring and fall are THE best times to be here but its great anytime. The North Central Concours Owners Group (GOG) would like to meet with you in the Midwest.
Many of us live around the twin cities of Minneapolis/St.Paul Minnesota.
Southwestern Wisconsin near here has some of the most scenic, twisty roads in the Midwest.

Mark, I know some members of a chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America. I think the chapter does a couple of road runs each year. Please send me an email that I can pass along to them if you want to connect with that organization.

The Concours Owners Group would very much like to meet with you. It is a Nationwide Group. Our North Central Region has some fantastic, scenic riding in SW Wisconsin.
We can also provide maintenance locations, many of us have lifts, Tools and Tire changers. Free camping and meals at my place. Contact me with your schedule to arrange meeting with our group.

Hey Mark, I live in Indian Land, SC, adjacent to Charlotte. I’m afilliated with the BMW dealer in Charlotte, and can perhaps organize for you to visit with us. In any case, I’d be happy to open my home to the two of you to relax, get some rest, do laundry, etc. I’m about to embark on a 120 day trip, from the US to Toronto, then by plane to London, followed by 30 days in Europe, and culminating in an Edelweiss tour from Estonia to Bangkok. I depart in July, but would love to host you if you’re in the area, prior to that.
Greetings. I ran across your blog while researching a trip to South America. Did you make the trip?
BTW, we did the garden route in South Africa last January. It was amazing.
